Born and raised in the Okanagan Valley, Krystal’s journey with dance began at the age of three with studying ballet, jazz, tap, musical theatre and contemporary dance at her hometown dance studio. On yearly family visits to Kolkata (India), she studied the classical Indian dance form of Kathak, as well as Bhangra, the cultural folk dance of her family’s region of Punjab, India.

As a performer, Krystal made her Broadway debut at the age of nineteen in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s production of ‘Bombay Dreams’ in New York City. Additional select theatre credits include the world premiere productions of ‘Lord of the Rings’ (directed by Tony award winner Matthew Warchus) and ‘Monsoon Wedding’ (directed by Mira Nair), two seasons at the Shaw Festival (“Of Marriage & Men”, “The Orchard (After Chekhov)”, “Horse & His Boy”, and “Brigadoon”), ‘West Side Story’ at Citadel Theatre, and a variety of other regional theatre. As a singer, Krystal toured internationally in arenas with Oscar and Grammy Award Winning composer, AR Rahman on his ‘Jai Ho World Tour’. She has performed in a variety of film and television projects including the film version of the hit musical ‘Hairspray’ dancing alongside John Travolta.
