A Theatre Conspiracy Workshop

Why be an audience member when you can be a participant? Part interactive game, part social discussion, part theatrical performance, Is Democracy Dead? is a workshop that invites you to care and connect. This interactive documentary-style theatre workshop is adapted from Theatre Conspiracy’s international hit show Foreign Radical.

The experience encourages its audience members to investigate critical issues in current events and questions the manipulation tactics of social media. In a fun and engaging environment of game play, the Theatre Conspiracy team empowers participants through interaction that creates empathy between strangers rather than amplify polarization. It’s fun, it’s funny, it’s a game that gets you thinking deeply about journalism and democracy.

Through real-world examples, games and discussions, each participant will have the opportunity to dissect current events, connect with others, and participate in more nuanced conversations about important issues. At a time when social media tends to create isolated bubbles of knowledge and discussion, and polarized politics seek to deliver fake news or brand even the best investigative reporting as fake, our hope is that we will foster thoughtful discussions and provide strangers a space to analyze and connect.
