Bir Btaalvi is a Punjabi-Canadian theatre artist and the founder of Navrasa Theatre Arts. A graduate of Douglas College’s Theatre Acting program, he has trained in voice, movement, character work, and Sanskrit theatre through Rostrum Arts, with additional scene study at Railtown Actors Studio.

His play Sikligar, written, directed, and performed by him, premiered at The Cultch and explores themes of immigration, memory, and the hidden costs of material ambition. Deeply rooted in Punjabi language and culture, his work spans classical and contemporary traditions, blending social critique with poetic storytelling.

Past credits include The Soldier Dreams and Black Watch at Douglas College, Jeona Manah Hai with South Asian Arts Society, and various community-based street theatre projects. Passionate about diaspora voices and cultural preservation, Bir continues to develop bold, multilingual narratives that challenge and connect.
