How to Watch Online

Livestreaming online has become the norm over the past 18 months, but it can still be a little tricky to figure out at times. To make sure you don’t miss any of our events, we’ve put together a quick guide to help you out. 

There are a few different ways to tune into our digital events. The best way to watch is using your SmartTV to stream from its built-in YouTube or Facebook app. Follow our step-by-step guide:

Stream using your TV (YouTube):

  1. On your SmartTV, go to the YouTube app.

  2. Search for our channel called “South Asian Arts Society” and click on our name.

  3. Subscribe to our channel.

  4. We have a “Monsoon Festival 2021” playlist right on our homepage to easily watch our latest event videos.

  5. Click on the video you would like to watch.

Stream using your TV (Facebook/Facebook Watch):

  1. On your SmartTV, go to the Facebook or Facebook Watch app.

  2. Search for our page called “South Asian Arts Society” and click on our name.

  3. Click on the video you would like to watch.


Stream from smartphone/tablet/computer to TV:

  1. Turn on your SmartTV.

  2. On your smartphone/tablet/computer, search for “South Asian Arts Society” on YouTube or Facebook and click on our name.

  3. Click on the video you would like to watch.

  4. While the video is playing on your device, tap/click the “Cast” icon in the top right corner of your screen. It looks sort of like a TV screen with three curved lines in the corner.

  5. Select the device you want to cast your video to.

  6. Enjoy!


Workshops & Dance Lessons via Zoom:

  • All Workshops and Dance Lessons will be taught using Zoom videoconferencing software.

  • The best way to participate on your desktop or laptop computer is by downloading the Zoom Web Client software from www.zoom.us.

  • It is possible to participate without downloading the web client, but with limited features.

  • To participate on your smartphone or tablet, you’ll need to download the app from the App Store (Apple devices) or from Google Play (Android devices).

  • Further instructions will be sent to you once you have registered for a workshop or dance lesson.

Of course, you can also watch directly on your smartphone, tablet or computer. Just choose the video you want to watch on YouTube (www.youtube.com/user/southasianartsvault) or on Facebook (www.facebook.com/southasianarts).
